GET YOUR YTB SUCCESS by FOCUSING on BUSINESSES

What is YTB SUCCESS, and What makes a person successful in YTB? Many network marketers will tell you that in order to be successful in YTB or any MLM business, you must run through the numbers. "It's a numbers game." While this statement has some truth in it, it's not the whole truth. Running through the numbers means sharing the business concept with everybody without exception and without judgement. While this is a strategy that works for many, I tend to believe that you can slightly alter that strategy and have greater success by FOCUSING on the RIGHT numbers which equals the RIGHT people.

Have you ever heard the saying, "I'm looking for those who are looking for me"? You might not have known it at the time, but what the person who said this has actually done is given you the keys to your YTB Success! Look for those who are looking for you! So WHO is looking for you? Think about it success breeds success. People who are already successful in business tend to affiliate with others who are likeminded: other business people.

Your success in YTB could depend on your affiliation with others who, like you, are business minded, and most business minded people are business owners. Here is a step-by-step approach that I've successfully implemented with business owners that might also consider:

1. List Your Business Prospects. Go through the Yellow Pages of your phonebook or business directory and make a list of prospects. Choose businesses that tend to have lots of traffic.

2. Call for an Appointment. Call and get the name of the owner or manager of the business and speak to them. Tell them that you have a business proposal to discuss with them and ask for an appointment to meet with them.

3. Use Your HOOK. Remember, business people are BUSY. In your first few seconds on the phone with them, you need to give them a compelling reason to meet with you. This is where your hook comes in. My assumption is that business people are in general all money-motivated at some level, so my hook will more than likely always involve something related to their bottom line. For example, you may say something like this: "If I can show you how to add an extra $50,000 to your bottom line in the next 12 months would you be interested?" Sometimes, I'll also add the phrase..."without your having to do anything any different", and it seems to work well.

4. Share your USP in 30 min or Less! Consider each meeting with a business owner or manager as the meeting of a lifetime. Go into that meeting prepared to tap into a GOLDMINE because very likely you will be. You should have the unique selling points about your BUSINESS and YOUR business carefully woven throughout your presentation.

5. Show them The Benefits One critical aspects of your meeting will be to show the benefits of your business. As we know, every person listens to the radio station WIIFM (What's In It For Me) so you need to be prepared to share THE BENEFITS of being in your business. Remember: features describe the attributes of a product or service. Benefits explain the value of those features to the person. Top it all off by sharing the end result which will let them how their life will ultimately improve.

6. Share Your Marketing Strategy One thing you want to do with busy business people is to take the guesswork and the fear that "I don't have time to do this" out of the minds of the people you will be presenting to. How do you do this? By sharing your marketing stragegy and plan for promoting what you are offering. If you can show them how this will be a virtually effortless process for them, you are more likely to get them onboard.

7. Take your 3rd Party Endorsements With You A very important part of any presentation is your 3rd party endorsement. They can be in the form of someone in your upline (Sponsor, PowerTeam Leader, Director, etc.) or a testimonial found in the Success From Home magazines, Circle of Champions DVD, etc. It's always great to share the testimonial or story of someone who is similar to the person you are presenting to so they can more closely relate.

These are the seven basic steps for promoting your business to business people. For more information about this strategy, more specifics on what to say when you meet or how to make the strategy work with your business prospects, contact Regina Osei.
