JOSHUA PERSKY GOT A JOB!

Remember Joshua Persky? He's the MIT grad who, after being laid off of his Wall Street job walked the streets of Manhattan wearing a sandwich board advertisement in an attempt to get hired. Well, guess what? He did! According to the December 9, 2008 peHub article titled, "Sandwich Board Job Hunter Gets Hired," it states that Joshua's stunt to generate media attention "worked," and has resulted in him securing a job at Weiser LLP, an accounting firm.

But what is it that "worked" for Joshua? If we find that out, we should bottle it and share it with those other 499,000 plus Americans who are also jobless. Sure, Joshua was able to get media attention, and that definitely helped... But I'm convinced that it wasn't the media alone that took Joshua over the top. It was what happened SURROUNDING (before, after and during ) the media's attention, that I believe helped Joshua to seal the deal. What was it? It was the oldest, greatest and most effective marketing tool in existence: Word of Mouth.

Joshua hit the streets...the word got out and Joshua went viral. People started talking and writing this heretofore unknown investment banker, and as the word was passed from person to person in chat rooms, on blogs, in forums... before long, Joshua started getting calls for interviews. Through the power of word of mouth, Joshua's story got out and the rest is now history.

Word of mouth marketing is not a new concept. In fact, it's the crux of what network marketing (MLM), is all about. If it is a legitimate network marketing company, it's not so much about "recruiting" as it is about sharing good news! You have a great company with a fantastic product or service that you offer the public. Your company offers you an unbelievable opportunity to earn a phenomenal salary paid in commissions and bonuses AND on top of everything else, you earn great perks. That's generally the kind of "good news" that's worth sharing, and that's why successful network marketing companies are so successful. Simply by sharing your opportunity with others who are in need of and in search of similar opportunities for themselves, you're able to help them AND build a great business for yourself. It's a WIN-WIN situation.

So the next time somebody approaches you about a network marketing opportunity, it might do you good to remember Joshua Persky and take a moment to listen. They may have something to share with you that will one day be as transformative for you as Joshua's word of mouth marketing has been for him.

Congratulations Joshua Persky! I'm glad you got hired. Your story is still being shared because it's a good one: an encouragement and an inspiration to many, including me and all my MLM business buddies.

Obama and McCain's VP Choice: How You Can Use Their Strategy

The Democratic Convention is over, and both Barack Obama and John McCain have made their VP choices. Barack Obama chose Joe Biden, a seasoned Washington insider, with a strong foreign policy background and criticized for talking too much. John McCain chose Sarah Palin, a young Alaskan governor that is hugely popular in her state but widely unknown and inexperienced. What were their choices based on? Will their system work for you as you make one of the biggest choices in your career: finding the right home based business opportunity?

No one really knows how McCain or Obama made their choice. Obviously, they both had teams to help them and all their choices were vetted. In the end, they chose the running mate that they believe will help them not only win the election in November, but also the person best suited to help them run the country.

Obama, somewhat weak in foreign policy, chose a well known statesman and veteran in the field. McCain, having a desire to win over the undecided Hillary and Independent voters, chose a female who he says is also a reformer. Both chose people who beefed up their credentials and helped to strengthen them where they were weak.

So how do you choose a homebased business that will do the same for you? Here are a few tips:

1. Determine your own strengths and weaknesses.
You want to choose a business that will build on your strengths and not only minimize but overcompensate for your weaknesses. For example, if you are strong in personal and human relations, but weak in being detail oriented, you want to choose a homebased business that requires you interface with the public, but one that doesn't require micro management or dealing with lots of financials or documentation.

2. List your favorites.
Make a list of the business ideas that pique your interest. There are literally thousands out there, so be sure to narrow your choices down to no more than five. Start broad, by category, and then begin to narrow your choices. Categorize your choices using a star system. For example, give one star to the business idea that seems to be the most fun. Give another star to the business idea that seems to be the most profitable. Give another star to the business idea with the lowest start up cost, and on and on.
The ones with the highest stars are the ones you want to begin your research on.

3. Evaluate your list.
To evaluate your list, you need to be objective. I suggest using the 15 Power Points of an Ideal Business scale that was devised by financial consultants and international bestselling authors, Dr. Denis Cauvier and Alan Lysaght. They say an ideal business opportunity should...

1. Sell to the masses.
2. Fulfill a fundamental need for many people.
3. Be low risk.
4. Provide the opportunity for ongoing passive income.
5. Require a low staff component.
6. Have a stable, growing, long-term demand.
7. Have low overhead costs.
8. Have low start-up costs.
9. Have a unique quality, making it difficult for competitors
to copy.
10. Have positive cash-flow and low inventory costs.
11. Have high profit margins and rates of return.
12. Have mimimal government regulation.
13. Be portable.
14. Be fun, challenging and satisfying for the business owner.
15. Provide an opportunity to uncover other money making
multiple streams of income (MSIs).

No doubt, the vetting process that Obama and McCain took Joe Biden and Sarah Palin through, had a similar checkpoint system. Until November, we won't really know how well they did in making their choice. Plus, as we know, while the VP choice may help (or even hurt) the real choice for who to vote for comes from the top, not the bottom, of the ticket. Still, by systematically using a process to identify a home based business opportunity, choosing well becomes a much easier process. Happy Hunting!

The Women of YTB at the 2008 Convention

A few days ago I returned from the YTB 2008 Convention. It was my first. The first year I joined YTB, I was too new to know that I even needed to go. The second year, because of excuses I gave myself, although Prince and I had planned to go, at the last minute, we changed our minds and didn't. This year, we went, and am I glad we did! It was absolutely AWESOME! From the YTBU Training classes that were taught by YTB Directors and Circle of Champions leaders, to the Convention Opening Ceremonies to the Sunday morning church services... we loved EVERYTHING! But the real highlight of the event, at least in my opinion, was the day that the Women of YTB were featured at the 2008 Convention. It was Girl Power at its BEST.

The YTB Women Came
They processed on stage in groups of five or 10 or 20 or more, but come they did! Women of all ages, all sizes, all races and all cultures. They were old and young, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, introvert and extrovert... you name it, they were a diverse group of women who, when they spoke (ane all did speak) they did so with passion and with POWER.

Never in my life have I seen so many women on one program from such diverse backgrounds speak so eloquently and from the heart about a company. YTB clearly has made a phenomenal impact on the lives and the DESTINIES of hundreds if not thousands of women and their families.

The YTB Women Shared

The women shared stories of heroism and courage and integrity and strength and there wasn't a dry eye in the Convention Center. Even men shed tears! As late as yesterday, I heard some men talking about how awesome "the women" were, so I asked them if any of them had wept. Without exception, those men admited that they had shed tears. It was nearly impossible not to!

The day opened with Chris Tomer (Coach's wife) sharing her heart and the struggles she experienced when Coach initially started YTB. They had given up EVERYTHING. It was clear that it had been a very painful and difficult time for her, but her love for Coach enabled her to offer silent and prayerful support. Later, after she began to really see the impact YTB was making, and after she started to meet the people who had joined YTB that her heart opened as did her arms to welcome the YTB family into her life.

The YTB Women are Strong & Powerful
Each of the women who spoke are YTB Directors, earning an average annual high six figure income, with many earning it monthly. Some are out-front and vocal all the time, and others remain primarily in the background as they give support to their husbands who are the true "builders" in YTB. No matter their position, all are POWERFUL and all have encountered and overcome untold challenges as they've climbed the ladder of success. One women in particular, whose story goes that she made it to the Level 1 Director spot while recovering from a mastectomy and undergoing chemotherapy. She said, "There were so many days that I didn't feel good. I could have stopped and had a pity party, but I decided that I would not quit. So I forced myself to stay the course... even through the pain and discomfort of chemo, and to continue to build my business." It was well worth it, she said, because as a Level 1 YTB Director, she now has paid medical insurance and a paid $150K life insurance policy, not to mention the money she earns!

The YTB Women are Absolute STARS
I am so proud of the Women of YTB. They are all stars and most recently, they have produced a book that tells many of their stories with an accompanying DVD that can be purchased from YTB for only $10. Trust me... is worth much more than that, and at $10 it feels like a steal! Whether or not you're in YTB, it's a great investment and it's a good read. If you have children, and girls in particular, it's simply a must have! The Women of YTB make me proud to be both a woman and a YTBer! Follow The Leader

Recently I've been thinking about the whole concept of "Follow the Leader" and what it has to do with being successful in business. If you think about it, the concept is first taught by parents and later, in grade school. Generally, one kid is distinguished from among the others as the leader. He or she will often be assigned to give instructions or direction to the rest of the class when the teacher is out of the room, and the class is expected to follow. You even see it in nature. Sheep always follow a leader, sometimes even to their detriment. When birds fly in formation, there is always a lone leader ahead of the flock, that all the other birds follow in near perfect form. Following the leader just makes sense.

Honestly, when I joined YTB, although subconsciously I know this, I had no thoughts about where the company fit among online travel MLM companies. Now, two years later, I'm happy that somehow, instinctively, without even being aware of it... I did join in fact... join the leader and now that I'm an insider, I am striving to emulate great leadership.

One of the greatest aspects of the YTB business and comp plan is that this "follow the leader" principle is built into the business plan to help ensure everyone's success. This is how it works: The PowerTeam is the highest paid position in YTB. In other words, it's where the money is. Every person who joins YTB is joining someone's PowerTeam. Now the PowerTeam leader is responsible to help each of his or her PowerTeam members, to also get into their PowerTeams. In other words, the leader lays out a plan for the members to follow, and if they do, they will be successful and get into their own PowerTeam where they too will begin to lead other followers.

Now, one great thing about this system is that when you join YTB, you have a motivated, built in coach who is ready and willing to lead you to success. Why? Because you are in their PowerTeam and this is where they earn the most. The more successful you are, the more money they make. So there is never a need for a person in his or her PowerTeam to ever need to buy leads. That motivated person who just joined their PowerTeam is the hottest lead they will ever find, and they -- too -- are eager to get into their PowerTeam.

Another great program that YTB offers aligned with the Follow The Leader principle is Coach's Corner. Coach's Corner is the next level after the PowerTeam where a person who has 30 active RTAs in his PowerTeam is personally coached to millionaire status by the founder and company leader, Coach J.Lloyd Tomer. Coach personally mentors the people in Coach's Corner, and that alone is an honor but the perks and benefits that Coach's Corner members receive are also wonderful.

A while ago I read an article about the difference between winners and losers I found at crisel.multiply.com, and its a concept has always been intriguing to me. I believe that there is a real connection between people who are known to be "winners", and "leaders". So, in my version (below) I replaced the words winners with "leaders" Read what the author has to say:

1) Leaders are always part of the answer, the loser is always part of the problem.
2) Leaders always have a program, the loser always has an excuse.
3) The leader says, " Let me do it for you", the loser says, "That is not my job".
4) The leader sees an answer for every problem, the loser sees a problem for every answer.
5) The leader says" It may be difficult but it is possible", the loser says" It may possible but it is difficult.
6) When a leader makes a mistakes he says," I was wrong"; when a loser makes a mistakes, he says, it wasnt my fault.
7) A leader makes commitments, a loser makes promises.
8) Leaders have dreams, Losers have schemes.
9) Leaders say, I must do something", Losers says something must be done.
10) Leaders are part of the team, Losers are apart from the team.
11) Leaders see the gain, Losers see the pain.
12) Leaders see the possibilities, Losers see the problem.
13) Leaders believe in a win-win, Losers believe for them to win someone has to lose.
14) Leaders see the potential, Losers see the past.
15) Leaders are like thermostats, losers are like thermometers.
16) Leaders choose what they say: Losers say what they choose.
17) Leaders use hard arguments but soft words; Losers use soft arguments but hard words.
18) Leaders stand firm on values but compromise on petty things: Losers stand firm on petty things but compromise on values.
19) Leaders follow the philosophy of empathy: " Don't do to others what you would not want them to do to you. Losers follow the philosophy: " Do it to others before they do it to you".
20) Leaders make it happen. Losers let it happen.

I think this sums up perfectly why, if we truly want to achieve success in business or in our home based businesses, we must follow the leader. If you want to succeed in your own home based business and don't know where to start, feel free to send me an email: reginaosei@gmail.com

How a Real Work-At-Home Mom is Achieving Real Success in YTB

I never knew that I was a late bloomer, but I am. I married my dream husband late in life. Four years later, the greatest miracle occured...Cion Alexandria Osei was born! When Cion entered our lives, I had been accustomed to working in Corporate America and in full-time ministry. After Cion was born, my life changed drastically. I immediately became a work-at-home Mom, who, thankfully before too long began achieving success in YTB.

Traveling has always been a passion of mine and in my past corporate jobs, ministry work and overseas missions, I had been blessed to travel quite a lot. So when my friend approached me with the idea of getting into a travel business, the travel part was a no brainer. It was the business part that I balked at.

YTB is both a travel business and a network marketing company. In my mind, it was little more than "sales" and I hated sales. I was also completely unprepared and unwilling to invest $500 in another business opportunity. I had invested too much in past ventures that I did absolutely nothing with. But there was something different about YTB. The way my friend spoke about the company, the founders, their integrity and most of all the travel products, travel benefits, perks and commissions... I was compelled. After about a month, my husband and I joined YTB.

We joined YTB for many reasons, first of which is that YTB is a great company. More than this, it's a really great company for a WAHM. First, because there is no pressure. YTB doesn't have timelines or quotas you must fulfil. You can work at your own pace and on your own schedule. Second, YTB just makes sense. If you're going to travel anyway and if you know people who travel, it makes sense to earn commissions on that travel. It also makes sense to travel wholesale, to save on your taxes AND to get paid a referral fee when sharing this great business and these benefits with others. Third, YTB is 100% turnkey. You don't even need computer skills to succeed in YTB! YTB makes it easy for WAHMs because they do the difficult work for you. Fourth, YTB rewards you on activity and on results! YTB has a $6,000 guarantee program that rewards you on activity even if you have no results. But YTB also rewards you very hansomely based on results. Earning an extra $500 or $1,000 or more a week can be a tremendous boost to the average family's household, especially when one member is a WAHM!

After I joined YTB, my first goal was to get rid of the $50 monthly maintenance fee. This was the first area that I started achieving success in YTB. After one month of being an RTA and sharing the business with my family and friends, many of whom also loved and joined YTB, our maintenance fee was reimbursed, thus giving us a 100% debt-free business. Our greatest successes in YTB came initially from our warm market, but by our fifth month in the business, we had begun marketing heavily using fliers and postcards and had started a small amount if marketing online... all that resulted in our earning our very first $1,000 bonus! Since then we've had lots of other people join our business from all around the USA, have earned additional bonuses and have had opportunities to take advantage of some of the great travel perks. One of my favorites was last Summer when I spent 5-days at a Sandals resort in Jamaica that I've always dreamed of visiting, at the unbelievable price of only $99. YTB has been good to us, but the best part is that I'm still a WAHM. I feel so blessed just to stay home with our now 20-month-year-old toddler and be able to spend quality time teaching and bonding with her during these very important early years.

Being a work-at-home-mom for me has been a joy. Our successes we attribute to God's grace that rests upon our TEAM. We have an awesome team that includes our upline, downline and even our crossline, and we meet weekly on our "Keeping It Real" conference call where we all brainstorm, share information, train and plan our marketing strategies. On our TEAM, we have the absolute best marketing and graphic design professionals available. Visit our graphic designer's website here. Visit my website by clicking HERE to learn more about YTB.

So this is my story.
I am a real work-at-home mom who is achieving real success in YTB. Have I gone as far as I desire? Absolutely not! I still have many goals that I'm working towards realizing one day, one step at a time. The good news is that I have the time to achieve them because I am in YTB for the long haul. If I can assist you or answer any questions you have, please feel free to call or send me a note. I will gladly tell you whatever I know about how to succeed in YTB... what works and what definitely does not work. I can also help you to overcome some of the challenges in YTB because I've had to overcome them myself. If you're a WAHM or if you're a stay-at-home-mom and you WANT TO BE a WAHM or work-at-home-mom, let my story encourage you. If I can do this, absolutely anybody can.

Joshua Persky...Who? He did... What?

A friend of mine, Gail Walker, just wrote a blog about a man named Joshua Persky. When I was told about it, I said.. "Joshua Persky... Who?" "He did...What?" I had never ever heard of this man, but what I've learned since then is that Joshua Persky, according to the article I read in USA Today is "an unemployed banker (that) has taken to the streets of Manhattan — wearing a pinstriped suit and an "MIT Graduate for Hire" sign draped over his shoulders." According to Gail's blog post, "Persky went the normal route of submitting his resume to head hunters and human resource depts. without success. Then out of desperation Persky started to think out of the box. He shows up on Park Avenue in New York one day wearing a sandwich board that said “Experienced MIT Grad for Hire” with his name and contact information. Needless to say Persky caught the attention of all the major newspapers, and all the major news channels. He was interviewed on all the morning news shows like Good Morning America, Good Day New York as well as the national evening news."

Apparently, what Joshua is doing that has generated such a frenzy of interest by the media is not only his particular story, but also his unique form of advertising. When I read the story, there were two particular aspects of it that immediately caught my attention: 1. The fact that Joshua Persky needs an immediate, substantial income source. 2. Joshua Persky needs a more effective form of advertising. Now the 20 million dollar question is: Which of these two points can I help him with? The answer? Actually both.

Point 1 - The Immediate Income Source - Joshua Persky's story gives evidence to the reality that in today's economy, EVERYBODY NEEDS A PLAN B. Joshua had a wonderful Plan A. He went to one of the top schools in the country, graduated most likely with honors, and got a good job in his field. That was his Plan A, and it worked! But having only a Plan A was the problem. Joshua had failed to put in place Plan B.

I have a friend who also graduated from MIT and who had a great job in Corporate America in Engineering. My friend also put his Plan B in place, and now he's well on his way to earning a six-figure RESIDUAL income. His Plan B is also mine: The YTB Travel Network and YTB Travel and Cruises (YTB). YTB is a publicly traded company that is already number one in the industry, and on target to become the largest online travel company in the world within the next few years. YTB is all about travel. You can make just about any travel arrangements that you choose on our YTB Travel website. I am a YTB Referring Travel Agent (RTA), and as an RTA, my customers can make arrangements for their airfare, car rental, hotel, cruise, golf vacations, you name it, on my website. In fact, you can book your travels right here. If Joshua Persky owned a YTB Travel Business, any travel booked on his website, would earn him 60% of the travel commissions. If Joshua knows people who are traveling already, he can earn some serious money through his booking engine, whether or not he personally had anything to do with scheduling the trip or not, as long as it was booked on his website.

But that's only one way that Joshua could benefit from YTB. Suppose Joshua cannot afford to join YTB and pay for his booking engine? YTB has the answer for that too. The YTB business opportunity is actually TWO businesses in one, and only the travel business has a fee. The other business is all about relationships, networks and networking. Joshua was a banker. No doubt, while working in banking he met a lot of people who are searching for an opportunity like YTB. Joshua probably knows people who would love to own their own travel booking engine that would allow them to vacation around the world paying wholesale prices, get paid on their own travels and on the travels of everyone who books travel through them or on their website, and that allows them to write off every trip, including personal vacations that they take. If Joshua were to simply refer some of his friends to his YTB Travel business, after they get their websites set up, YTB would pay Joshua a very nice referral fee. These referral fees are no joke because they double in a very short period of time as he continues to refer people and they refer people. Before long, Joshua Persky could be earning five, six or seven figures after joining YTB for FREE!

Point 2 - Effective Way of Advertising - Recently, I joined a phenomenal business called whatbusinesstodo.com. whatbusinesstodo.com is a marketing and advertising tool that anybody, including business people can use to build their business and promote their products and services. Now the greatest aspects of whatbusinesstodo.com are: 1. The website is highly "search engine" optimized. This means that the information and advertising that you put on the site, once you learn the techniques that they teach you, will often be found on the first page of google, yahoo and other the top search engine sites. This is significant, because Joshua needs people to find him. This way, they would. 2. The site has top of the line marketing tools that include: blogs, video marketing, chat rooms, classified ads, events and more. Your Travel Biz Offers Superior Support and Outstanding Marketing Tools

When deciding what business to do, two considerations should be: 1. the support system and 2. the marketing tools provided by the company. The Your Travel Biz is strong in both arenas. The company offers unlimited support via its multifaceted and supportive infrastructure, and the marketing tools are, without controversy, outstanding.

YTB’s Support System

One of the first things that I noticed after joining YTB in 2006 was the support system that the company has in place. First, the company has a dynamic team of over 300 people working in the corporate offices in Wood River, IL who provide support via phone for about 14 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week for both the travel and the marketing sides of the business. In addition, there are teams of accountants and legal staff available by phone and support ticket (found in the back office) who readily respond to suggestions, questions and concerns.

But that’s only part of the equation. YTB, as a network marketing company, is structured in TEAMS. Why? Because TEAMWORK makes the DREAM WORK! As someone is sponsored into a TEAM, they are supported by they’re new Power Team leader or by their sponsor or both. In many cases, it’s both.

What does this support look like? Well, in our TEAM, support is provided through our weekly “Keepin’ It Real” conference calls. On these calls we talk about issues that concern team-members, we brainstorm and share strategies, we role play scenarios and we discuss marketing tools, tips and ideas. We also work as a team to ensure that whether we are the sponsor, sponsor’s sponsor or the PowerTeam leader if someone in our TEAM calls, we’re available for advice, three-ways, travel parties or suggestions.

YTB’s Marketing Tools

There is no question that marketing is very critical in any business building enterprise. In the Your Travel Biz, we take business building and marketing very seriously. Immediately after you purchase your YTB online travel store, you receive the first marketing tool needed to promote, market and begin advertising your business, the Your Travel Biz marketing website. This site, one of more than seven that you automatically receive with your business, has a lot of information on it including a YTB company video, information about the YTB Comp Plan and Disclosure Statement, information about the Company Founders, J. Lloyd Tomer, Scott Tomer and J.Kim Sorensen, YTB Events, YTB Conference Calls and YTB International Investor information. On your marketing website you also have the link to book travel and the Deals and Steals form that allows your customers to sign up to receive travel specials in their Email inboxes weekly.

This is only the beginning of the list of information and marketing tools and resources available to you in YTB. In your back office, you will also find a host of tools including the YTB Success From Home magazine program that offers a $6000 guarantee, the Circle of Champions videos that tell the stories of 12 YTB Directors who all earned upwards of $1 million dollars in a 12-month period, Leaders Bulletins, The Coach’s Playbook and many other outstanding marketing tools that can be used to successfully build your YTB Travel business. Finally, visit www.princelydesigns.com if you want to get fliers, postcards, car magnets, business cards for your business. You can order from one of the templates there or you can customize your own unique design.

The Your Travel Biz clearly does not take shortcuts when it comes to the serious business of “business building.” The support system and marketing tools that YTB provides to new business owners are second to none. If you are considering a home-based business, look for one that provides the infrastructure, system and tools you need to build your business at the level you desire.

Solve Your High Gas Prices Problem! Don't Let Rising Gas Prices Get You Down!

Are you one of the millions of Americans who has been struggling to pay your house note, only to now have to worry about high gas prices? Are high gas prices getting you down? Is the threat of rising gas prices frightening you? The real question is not IF it's a problem, but WHAT are you going to do about it?

It's no secret that the threat of rising gas prices is hurting millions of working American families. And if you're not working, you may have an even greater problem. The solutions that the politicians are suggesting are riddled with questions. Will it work? How long will it take to work? Can we depend on it? Well, no matter what the government comes up with, the bottom line is that you cannot leave your life in their hands. You've got to invest in your own future and take control of your own life. ]If your next question is, "How?" Consider getting yourself a PLAN B because Plan A, the plan you've been working on all your adult life, just won't cut it anymore.

But more than this, you DESERVE more. You deserve a life that will allow you not only to live comfortably and have abundance yourself, but also to have enough to share with others. You deserve to be able to travel and see the world and enjoy life without a strain. If you want these things, maybe you should consider YTB Travel, because YTB can give it to you. But don't take my word for it. Check it out and see it for yourself.

My family and I instituted our Plan B about two years ago. A friend of mine and I were working in the real estate field when she was introduced to a business opportunity with YTB Travel. She told me that this business allowed her to travel wholesale, earn a 60% commission on all her travels as well as any travel booked on her website, and be able to even write off her vacations! This sounded almost too good to be true, but since I love to travel, and I have traveled a lot in my lifetime and wanted to travel more, from the very beginning I liked it. Still, I resisted getting involved because I had been in another business that I did nothing with, and I didn't want to throw away anymore money. I am so thankful that she didn't allow my resistance to deter her. About a month later, I joined the company and I can honestly say, I've never been happier. YTB Travel is a top notch company. There are others with a lower entry fee, but I understand business and I understand that you get what you pay for. I did my due dilligence to check out the company, and I am absolutely convinced that my husband and I made the absolute best choice, and I would not change anything.

To find out more about YTB Travel, feel free to view our presentation here and here.

In nearly two years time, my husband and I have built a team that spans this nation. To ensure that we are able to connect with all our teammembers, we host weekly meetings via conference calls. The focus of these calls is training, motivation and support. We teach you how to build. maintain and sustain your business by using the strategies and tools that we and others in YTB have found to be successful. What do we require in return? COMMITMENT. If you are committed, we are committed to help you succeed. All you need to do is to stay plugged in and follow the YTB system. The good news is that we help you tailor the system to fit your individual schedule and needs.

Don't let the high gas prices, and the rate in which gas prices are rising get you down. There are other options available to help you and your family to take the edge off!**********************************************************

YTB MOVES UP TO 26TH PLACE IN TRAVEL WEEKLY POWER LIST 2008

YTB Travel has moved up in the long awated Travel Weekly 2008 Power List! One year ago, it was big news that YTB was on the Travel Weekly 2007 Power List in the 35th place, but one year later, YTB has moved up nine places from its previous ranking into the 26th spot! This is GREAT NEWS for YTB and for our clients. It only substantiates the fact that YTB is a serious player in the online travel industry, and YTB International is here to stay!

The Travel Weekly article went into detail about some of the challenges YTB faced in 2007, including the loss of YTB's IATA status and having Royal Caribbean Cruiselines refuse to do business with YTB RTAs because of the Company's network marketing business model. This made the fact that the article also listed some of YTB's most prominent accomplishments for 2007 even more astounding. Some of these accomplishments include:

* $414.5 million in sales that YTB had in 2007
* YTB was admitted as a member of the Direct Selling Association
* More than 10,000 attendees (up from 3,200 in the previous year) at the August 2007 national convention
* YTB launched operations in the Bahamas, Bermuda and Canada

For more information about the 2007 accomplishments of YTB be sure to read the Travel Weekly Power List found here:YTB in 26th Place in Travel Weekly's Power List 2008.

Passport Book –vs- Passport Card: Which Do You Need?

U.S. Citizens are facing a travel choice, that for some seems more like a dilemma: "Do they need a passport? If so, should they get a passport book or passport card? Which is better?" Even with gas prices hovering at $4 and $5 a gallon, people around the nation are still traveling. Summer is a prime vacation travel time, and many travelers have plans to travel overseas, on tours and on cruises that will take them into foreign ports of call, so these are very valid questions. If you and your family have plans to travel outside the country, you want to be sure to have all your documentation ducks in a row before leaving home.

One of the first things you need to check on is U.S. passport requirements. This year, travelers have a choice. They can choose between getting a passport card or a passport book. As a YTB Travel Referring Travel Agent, it is my delight to help you navigate these waters and make the best decision for you and your family.

First you need to understand what the differences are. Use the information below to help you determine which option best suits your needs.

PASSPORT BOOK
Valid for travel by air, sea or land

Validity:• 10 years for adults
• 5 years for minors

Size:
5” x 3 ½” (when unopened)

Cost for first time applicants:
• $100 for adults
• $85 for minors

Cost for U.S. Passport book renewal:
• $75 for adults

PASSPORT CARD
Not for travel by air. Valid for land and sea
crossings between the U.S. and Canada,
Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean only.

Validity:• 10 years for adults
• 5 years for minors

Size:
Wallet size

Cost for first time applicants:• $45 for adults
• $35 for minors

Cost for U.S. Passport book holders:• $20 for adults

If you apply for both documents at the same time, the cost for first time applicants is: Adults: $120 and Minors: $95

As you can see by the information above, while both cards are similar and have advantages, there are a few major differences:

1. Only the passport book can be used for travel by air; the passport card cannot. The passport card is restricted to land and sea travel.
2. The passport book can be used to travel worldwide. This is not the case with the passport card because it can only be used for travel to the Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda, and Canada.
3. A major difference is the cost. The cost for getting a new or renewal passport book costs considerably more that the cost off getting a passport card.

For additional information about passports and to apply, visit:

OBAMA, CLINTON AND YTB: WHAT THEY HAVE IN COMMON

BARAK OBAMA HAS CLINCHED DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION! Even now, Hillary is still hanging on! What POSSIBLY could Obama and Clinton have in common? Keep reading....

I am an AMERICAN, and as an American Citizen who has lived outside the country (I lived in Ghana located in West Africa for four years), I am very thankful and grateful to be an American. As a Black American and a Democrat to boot, I am so very proud to know that Sen. Barak Obama has TODAY, clinched the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America. What a wonderful day this is!

This year has been like no other, and I can honestly say that I have been engaged in watching, supporting and participating in the primary campaigns like never before! My television practically stays on CNN News or MSNBC Headline News because these two stations are known as America’s Election Headquarters and provide relentless election coverage. But what does all this have to do with Senators Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton and YTB Travel? You’d be surprised.

One thing that I have noticed as I’ve watched the election coverage of these two candidates (with Obama now being the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party), is that Obama is appealing because of his being a “change agent”, and Clinton is appealing because of her tenacity. Barak, by his very personhood (his mixed African and White American heritage, his international upbring and his accomplishments of being the first person of African-American heritage to become president of the Harvard Law Review) exemplifies CHANGE. Hillary is fierce contender on every front. One must respect her "no holds barred", "never call it quits" attitude. No matter the odds against her or the challenges that face her, she simply does not and will not quit, and even in losing (which in all our lives is sometimes inevitable), she does so as a winner. These characteristics are not only true of the candidates, but these characteristics also characterize YTB Travel and Cruises and the YTB Travel Network.

YTB As A Change Agent: YTB was founded in 2001. It was a time of change. Travel bookings were moving from the traditional travel agent who worked out of brick and mortar facilities to the Internet. YTB capitalized on this trend by establishing a turnkey, home-based online travel business that allowed ordinary people like you and me, to join the business and with very little training, be able to encourage our family, friends and others who would be booking travel online anyway, to book their trips on our websites so that WE earn the commissions. This was BRILLIANT! But YTB didn’t stop there. YTB incorporated not only typical travel related products on the websites, but also non-traditional products that relate to travel like: a Honeymoon Registry, a Golf enthusiasts site, a site specifically for people who are Outdoors enthusiasts and even a site where you can buy a new or used car! But the real innovation was when YTB decided that its chosen marketing tool would be the business owners themselves -- by word of mouth -- they introduced something that was virtually unheard of in the travel industry. At least, if it had been tried before -- the network marketing aspect -- YTB was the first to incorporate MLM into the travel business and do so SUCCESSFULLY. Similar to Sen. Obama, YTB is never satisfied with the status quo. Obama says that we’re turning the page as Americans, from the old politics of the past. YTB is also perpetually turning the page from the old ways of doing business.

YTB also instituted change in MLM by being the first and the best in a number of other arenas, namely:

1. YTB guarantees your success with its $6000 Guarantee "Success From Home" Magazine Program!
2. YTB pays out bonuses from $1,000 to $1,000,000 (a first in MLM)!
3. YTB has a Bill of Rights that ensures that it will never change its Copyrighted Comp Plan!

YTB As A Tenacious and Fierce Contender: It is no surprise that YTB has suffered a lot of blows. As a front-runner in the industry as in the political arena, you are a target. YTB has been targeted for destruction by traditional travel agents (TTAs) and by other “Johnny-come-lately" travel companies. These groups have tried “operation Swift Boat”, “the kitchen sink strategy”, you name it… it has been done to YTB. TTAs started petitions against YTB to try and close us down completely. Why? In the case of the traditional travel agents, they do so simply because of our chosen marketing tool. YTB Travel chooses to PAY PEOPLE on a referral basis for rather than paying millions and even billions of dollars to advertising companies. In the case of those “other” travel companies, it’s simply an issue of competitive jealousy. What they don't seem to understand is that there is no absolute competitor to YTB because there are many aspects of the YTB Travel Network that are simply unduplicated. Still, they fight us. With all this, YTB has refused to close shop, shut down or get out. YTB even lost its IATA/IATAN accreditation, but thank God, this didn't stop YTB. In fact, we didn't skip a beat. YTB RTAs can still book travel and receive commissions, AND travel at discounted rates. Instead of these things hurting YTB, we have only grown stronger and better. We know how to "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'! YTB Travel has also continued to innovate by offering more products and services that benefit both our customers and future potential YTB Travel Network Business Partners. The struggles we've faced have only sharpened us and now as always, YTB stands heads and tails above the rest.

Tonight, Sen. Barak Obama made history as the first African American to win the Democratic nomination. Hillary Clinton also made history as a female candidate, who by all standards, ran harder, further and longer than any other candidate. She is to be applauded. With all the buzz about this campaign, without a doubt, this has been a remarkable Democratic Primary! YTB Travel is making history too. Some believe that Obama and Clinton would be a Dream Ticket. Whether or not this will be the case, here’s a real Dream Ticket for you: YTB Travel & Cruises and the YTB Travel Network . If you are looking for a real business that has a very low start-up fee, unbelievably low monthly overhead, franchise-like support and a compensation plan that can absolutely revolutionize your financial life, you cannot miss with YTB. YTB Travel is the perfect formula for a solid home-based business operation. YTB offers all you need to be successful in business. As your TEAM LEADER, I will offer you the kind of support, tools and strategies that will help you build a solid and sustainable business whether your choice is to market it online, offline or both. Looking for LEADS to Build YOUR Business?

If you're in an MLM business, you know that when you run out of leads, you're virtually out of business. But buying leads is not the answer. 90% of the leads you buy are bad. Trust me, I've bought my fair share and I know. So... once you've shared your business with your warm market what do you do? How do you continue to generate leads? The best way is online because on the Internet, you are exposed to literally MILLIONS of people!

A friend of mine told me about a lead generation program that she had been using to generate leads for her YTB business. She gets TONS of leads from it daily. With this program, you don't need to know anything about SEO or keywords or any of these things. And what you do need to know, they teach you. But best of all, they do the work for you... for only a penny a day! That's right, for only $3.65 a year, you can join. The program launches TONIGHT to the public via a webinar. It will help you advertise and promote your YTB (or any other business for that matter) and generate your own leads for only a penny a day!

Unfortunately, you missed the webinar, but if you use the link below, you can still join this awesome program at only a PENNY a day ($3.65 a year)is:

YTB Travel Success; YTB Travel Failure

Tonight as I listened to Team Vision's Sunday night conference call, I was awed by the phenomenal testimonies about people who became Level 1 Directors after only 11 months of being in YTB, of people who worked the business one day a week for two hours and earned TWO $10,000 bonuses. As I listened, I could feel my pulse quickening and my heart racing, as my thoughts darted through my mind. What would I do tomorrow, the next day or the next, to ensure my family's success in the YTB Travel Network? Was success as simple and easy as those on the call made it sound? If it is, why do so many fail in YTB? These are some of the questions that countless people, including YTB RTAs, YTB REPs and YTB prospects ponder each and every day.

Probably 99% of the time when the YTB business model is shared, it is testimonies about people who are experiencing unheard of successes in business that is mainly shared. I must admit, I do the same thing. I love to share with others about the first cruise I booked for 15 passengers, where I received nearly $2,500 in commission, or the first YTB Travel FAM Trip that I took where I spent five days at a luxurious Sandals Resort in Jamaica, and paid only $99 total. I love talking about getting my monthly fee reimbursed after being in the business for only one month, because I had personally recruited six people... or what about those $1,000 bonuses that we started receiving after only five months in the business? These are the stories... and mind you, they are all true... that YTB loves to share. Why? Because these are the stories that inspire, encourage, motivate and help people who dream of a better reality for themselves and their families.

How motivated would you be if I told you that some people join YTB and never make a dime? Or what if I said, many people join YTB and never get a booking on their website or even take a trip themselves... let alone take advantage of "travel agent only" discounted rates. Still, these are also the realities. There are both unbelievably successful people in YTB just as there are unbelievable failures. The difference in the two has nothing to do with whether or not you join YTB with a leg up -- such as being a tenured network marketer with a huge list or having worked as a travel professional in a past life. The difference is in one word. It begins with a "C". Commitment. Those who succeed in YTB have one thing in common: their committment to SUCCESS in YTB!

YTB is not a difficult business. In fact, it may be it's simplicity that causes some to fail. I say this because I'm reminded of a story found in 2 Kings 5:1 - 14 where Naaman, the commander of the Syrian army was very great man who was also a leper. When the King of Syria learned that there was a prophet named Elisha who could cure Naaman, he requested his help. Elisha sent Naaman a letter telling him to go and wash in the Jordan seven times and he would be healed. Now anyone would think that with simple instructions like this, surely, that very day, Naaman's skin was a fresh and new as that of a newborn baby. One would think, but one would be wrong. As the story goes, Naaman, instead of leaping for joy, got angry because the prophet had not come to him and worked the "theatrics" that Naaman envisioned would be necessary for such a healing. Plus, he thought, why should he bypass the other "cleaner" rivers, to go and wash in the dirty Jordan? He had a little case of egoitis, and it nearly cost him his life... that was, until his servants gave him a reality check, pointing out that if he had been instructed to do something more difficult he would have done it, but because he was given simple instructions, he didn't want to follow them.

This, I believe, is the problem that some people have with YTB. Most are given simple instructions when they join: 1. Make a list of people you know who will potentially either be your clients or your business partners. 2. Schedule your grand opening. Keep it simple and duplicatable. Use the DVD to share the business and don't serve a lot of food. Keep the main thing the MAIN thing. 3. Invite your guests, let your PowerTeam leader close for you... build your business. 4. Stay plugged in by listening to conference calls and attending meetings, at least once weekly. Simple instructions. So why is it that so many don't follow them? Perhaps, if we manufactured some kind of "rocket scientist's" outline for them to follow, they would.

What I've found is that there is something about network marketing company businesses that bring out people who are often not so serious about doing what it takes to build a business as they are about getting rich quick. YTB, amongst all network marketing companies certainly has the goods to enable one to get rich. It's the "quick" that is often deceptive.

Yes, there are some who have gone, literally from rags to riches, in a mere few months and definitely within a few years in YTB. YTB Travel and Cruises and the YTB Travel Network is only a seven year old company, and there are quite a few people who are millionaires. We have a Circle of Champions who have, within a 12 month period, each earned at least $1 million. There are countless others who have, over the period of 3 or 4 years, certainly made at least $1 million... probably more. But that's not the norm. The norm is that it takes consistency: consistently staying plugged in, consistently talking to people you meet about the business, consistently sharing the opportunity and consistenly using the product...over a period of time before reaching the status of attaining the kind of wealth that many are seeking. Think about it: It takes about four years to get a bachelor's degree. Why would anyone think that they can join a network marketing company... a completely new industry for most, and in a mere few days, weeks or months be able to master techniques that it takes years of study, learning and practice for most to learn? Many refuse to spend any time studying or even learning about the industry.

My conclusion is that YTB Travel is not the problem. If you study our comp plan, you will see that it is incomparable to any network marketing plan in existence. First, it is copyrighted, so it can never be legally duplicated. It has a Bill of Rights that is legally binding, preventing the owners from ever changing the plan. It is front-loaded with bonuses from $1,000 to $1,000,000, and though it appears at first glance to be small, it has a serious residual income. It has no qualifing, no timelines, no chargebacks, no quotas and no demotions. And best of all? It pays at every level no matter how wide or how deep your team becomes. YTB even has a $6,000 Guarantee Program that is connected to its "Success From Home" magazine program! With this program, if you follow it and hand out only 25 magazines a month that you document, even if NOBODY joins your business -- which is highly unlikely -- you'll walk away after 12 qualifying months, with a $6,000 check!

In addition to all this, when you join YTB, you have your very own personal online travel booking engine, powered by Travelocity! Hotels.com provides the hotel inventory. Practically every major vendor, with few exceptions, for airline tickets, car rentals, cruises and vacations are part of your inventory, yet you never have anything to buy, stock, story or warehouse. Yes, the YTB Travel Biz Comp Plan and the business as a whole is nothing less than outstanding. Our success doesn't depend on YTB. It depends on us.

My husband and I have been in YTB Travel & Cruises for nearly two years. In that time, we've had our share of both the successes and the failures. The successes we attribute to YTB Travel because we have more than enough marketing tools, strategies and techniques both provided by the company and by our leaders. The failures, in all honesty. I attribute to our sometimes laziness and other times, just failing to follow the simplicity of the system. Network marketing is all about duplication and following a system because systems ARE duplicatable.

In our TEAM in particular, we have some of the best, most adept Internet and traditional marketing specialists and graphic designers in the industry, and they make their skills available to every member of the TEAM. My husband, Prince, through his graphic and web design company PrincelyDesigns.com, provides YTB teams all around the country with creative and beautifully crafted marketing tools. He has templates on his site, or you can request to have your marketing tools customized.

In YTB Travel, no matter what, there will always be success stories and stories of people who joined YTB Travel, who are abject failures. One only needs to ask himself or herself "WHY?". Answered honestly, most will have to admit that YTB Travel provided untold opportunities for success; they, however, in their laziness, fear, refusal to follow instructions or desire to "get rich quick", often opted for failure.

YTB TRAVEL NEWS - Hot Off The Press - May 29, 2008

The WORD that there would be a big announcement made to YTB Travel RTAs, following the mandatory Director's Meeting that was held in YTB's Corporate Headquarters today, quickly got out. YTB Travel RTAs (and others) have been scurring to Google "YTB News" or "YTB Announcements" for today's date, May 29, 2008, in order to find out what this all important news is. Well there was a lot discussed in the meeting. In fact, I am told that nearly 30 YTB Travel RTAs were promoted to Director today by Coach Tomer, some, simply because they were "close" to reaching the qualifying numbers and although they were not 100% there, they cared enough to attend the meeting! I'm sure this was a wonderful, welcomed surprise for them. There were other announcements made, but some of the major points made are outlined below. Read here for YTB News, Hot Off The Press!

$50 Bonus - To ensure that there is no confusion about the $49.95 fee that RTAs pay for website hosting and maintenance, after an RTA personally sponsors six (6) other RTAs, as long as those RTAs remain active, the sponsoring RTA will receive a monthly $50 bonus. Now, what's the difference? The primary difference is in the language used. We no longer say that "the $49.95 monthly fee will be reimbursed" because we want to make it clear that the monthly maintenance fee will still need to be paid monthly.

10% OverrideYTB Travel RTAs no longer need to become Certified by attending a YTB CRTA class before being able to receive the 10% override in their PowerTeams. Now the 10% override will be paid automatically based on travel booked by the people in their PowerTeams.

50% Match - YTB Travel REPS now qualify the same as YTB Travel RTAs for the 50% match. In the past, before a person who was a YTB REP could qualify for the 50% match, they would have to personally sponsor four (4) RTAs instead of three (3) because they (themselves), were not an RTA. Now, YTB Travel REPS will qualify for the 50% match simply by sponsoring three(3) RTAs.

Absolutely No Solicitation. - YTB Travel RTAs are strongly admonished not to solicit for their businesses on Fam Trips or any other trips that are taken as part of YTB Travel. To do so is strongly frowned on in YTB Travel and in the travel industry as a whole. In other words, YTB Travel RTAs are admonished to never use FAM Trips, Cruises or any trip where they received travel insider benefits, to advertise or recruit their business. If it is discovered that a YTB Travel RTA or REP is guilty of this behavior, they will be in jepardy of losing and being permanently barred from the YTB Travel business.

Obsolete Websites. - YTB Travel will be unveiling a brand new website after the 2008 Convention, and the word on the street is that after this unveil, EVERY OTHER YTB WEBSITE will be obsolete. How this will be implemented, I haven't a clue, but I'm sure that YTB is trying to ensure standardization and professionalism with this change.

There were many other things discussed during the meeting that will be shared over time by YTB Directors, about the vision and goals for the Company and the YTB RTAs and REPs. Keep your eyes and ears posted HERE for the latest YTB Travel News - Hot Off The Press!

YTB Travel Agency: Scam or Legitimate Business?

Tonight as I did some research on YTB Travel, I ran across a few websites where -- once again -- the question about whether or not the YTB Travel Agency is a scam or a legitimate business or not is at issue. This issue about YTB Travel being a SCAM never ceases to surprise me. Scam.com has logged in pages and pages of people in other travel companies and other MLM companies debating this issue. The irony is that, it doesn't take rocket science to see that this is really a ridiculous issue. Just think about it: YTB is in partnership with some of the biggest names in the business: Travelocity, Carnival Cruise Lines, Hotels.com, Hertz Rental Cars, and on and on. To top it off, just the other day, YTB International launched a partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, how could ALL of these huge corporate businesses, with all the legal representation they have onboard to advise them, completely miss the fact that the company they are doing business with is a SCAM? This boggles the mind!

What about the Direct Selling Association? This organization prides itself in intricately scrutinizing their membership, to ensure that their members are not pyramids, schemes, scams or any type of illegal or illegitimate business. Before the DSA would approve the application of the YTB Travel Network, they looked long and hard at YTB for a solid year. With a full 365 days to study the details of the company's financials, comp plan, policies and procedures, IF YTB is a SCAM, don't you think this would have been discovered? I mean, the DSA does this type of research everyday, so they KNOW what to look for. I would think that if YTB was a scam, they would have sniffed out that information within the first six months, let alone a year.

YTB has many other highly respected companies to give their endorsement and the proverbial "thumbs up" to YTB Travel for a job well done. For the third year in a row, YTB received the prestigious Carnival Cruiseline Pinnacle Award. Travel Weekly magazine included YTB in its Power List 2007 as one of the top 35 travel agencies worldwide and one of the top 11 leisure travel agencies. In November, 2007, Travel Weekly named YTB Travel Network CEO, J. Kim Sorensen, to its list of the 33 most influential people in the travel industry.

Why this question continues to crop up, I have no idea. It could be because YTB is a leader in the travel industry and last year more than doubled their Referring Travel Agents to over 130,000. Very soon YTB Travel will be the largest online travel agency worldwide. YTB's Referring Travel Agents booked over $400,000,000 in travel in 2007. With these factors and the overall exponential growth that YTB has been experiencing, it is understood that many, including traditional travel agents and other MLM travel companies, will continue to infer that YTB is a scam. The only problem is that YTB is not a scam. The truth is that YTB is a legitimate business that gives ordinary people extraordinary opportunities to own their own thriving travel business, and a piece of that great American pie.

YTB Travel helps make the American Dream a reality for hundreds of thousands of people everyday. People who have never dreamed that they could retire in their 30's or 40's have been able to do so in YTB. People in their 50's and 60's who once lived paycheck to paycheck, now earn six figure residual incomes, thanks to YTB.

YTB Travel is a phenomenal business and opportunity that allows everybody to win. We have the best comp plan that anyone has ever seen in a network marketing business. Will some people join YTB Travel and utterly fail at making any money? By all means. Why? In most cases, it's because they are either unwilling to treat their business like a business. I we will do what others do, we can have what others have. The problem is that most people are lazy. They have a lottery, "get-rich-quick" mentality, and don't expect to work in order to earn the big bucks.

The YTB Travel Agency is absolutely not a SCAM. It is a legitimate business that offers phenomenal opportunities for SUCCESS. If you need a Plan B, contact us. If you are ready to find out for yourself how the YTB Travel Network can change your life and help you attain the wealth you desire, contact us. We are looking for people who want to WIN, and are willing to be coachable and teachable to do so. I look forward to hearing from you! We are looking for leaders to open up new venues for YTB Travel. Are you the one we're looking for? If you believe you are, give us a call.

What Place Does God Have in Your YTB Travel Business?

Recently, read a post on a blog that someone mentioned that I should be careful because John Frenaye was looking to shut down my YTB Travel business... HARD. After I read the post, I posted my comments reflecting that I was trusting God for my business, and that God is the only one who can build it as well as tear it down. Wow! After I posted those comments, the backlash began, especially from someone called TravelLisa! I seem to have that affect on some people. Anyway, several people started ridiculing my comments. They started asking me whether God was in my downline. They wanted to know why I was pushing God down people's throats because, in their opinions, God had no place in my business.

They went on to tell me that "religion" is a private matter and that I am "wrong" to talk about God as it relates to a conversation about my business. Well, I want to make it known that I adamantly disagree. First, I don't practice a religion. I have a relationship, and when I talk about God, I am talking about that relationship. You see, without God, I nor my business would matter. In my life, God holds not only first place, but every place. God is my reason for being. If there were no God, I wouldn't have a reason to get up in the morning. You see, Jesus Christ is not only my Lord... the Master, the Director and the Ruler of my life, but Jesus Christ, God manifested in the Flesh, is also my SAVIOR. That means, He SAVED me. He kept me from falling. He restored my soul, and indeed... He IS my life!

Before I met Christ, I was headed down a path of destruction. I lived recklessly and without regard for my life or for the lives of others. I am so grateful and thankful to God for saving me. And to be frank with you, one of the things that I love MOST about YTB Travel is the place that God has, not only in my life, but also in the lives of so many who join this business.

At last year's YTB Travel Network Convention, Coach J. Lloyd Tomer, during the Sunday service, made a statement about there being an anointing on YTB. Coach said that the people who join YTB do so because God draws them to the business. I believ that. My husband and I pray regularly for our business, our business partners and for YTB as a whole. We didn't want to be a part of anything that God wasn't involved with, and we don't want to be linked with people as business partners who God does not join to us. In other words, God's will is ALL that we desire in our YTB Travel business. For us, it's not about how much money we have, how many people we recruit or even how much travel we sell. For us, it is about our being in the center of God's will concerning our lives as we work this business.

Once when I was praying with a young man about YTB Travel, the Lord gave me a revelation that he will make many people wealthy in YTB Travel, but not so that we will just have more money to buy more stuff. God desires to make His people wealthy so that we can attest to His goodness and tell others... both rich and poor... our testimony. If we are also wealthy, we can more easily get an audience with wealthy people to tell them about the Lord. And what about the people who are poor, we can share with them also about what God has done for us... and will also do for them if they trust Him and follow His lead.

One of the comments that I posted on that blog where "TravelLisa" criticized my referencing God was that, in a world where everybody, without regard for God or God's laws, feels so free to flaunt their beliefs: gays and lesbians freely parade their sexual orientation, some people freely smoke, drink, curse, commit adultery and fornicate, politicians openly admit to committing all kinds of fraud, pornography reigns supreme nearly everywhere you look... In a society like this, if anybody should feel free mentioning anything, the believers of Jesus Christ, people who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, should surely feel free to openly, in any setting and at all times... proclaim the goodness, the honor, the adoration and the high esteem that we have for God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

So... what place should God have in your YTB Travel Business? Well, when it comes to other people, I am hesitant to use the term "should", but what I can say... at least for myself and for all who claim to be Christians, I believe that God should be front and center. God is both the Alpha and the Omega... the beginning and the end.... the first and the last. There is NO PLACE that God should not have in your YTB Travel Business.

And as my 18 month old would say with exuberance: AMEN!

Did YTB Acquire American Destinations? Yes or No?

Recently, I posted a blog about YTB having acquired American Destinations, Inc. (ADI). As soon as I posted it, John Frenaye attacked me and told me "Nice Try. Now try telling the truth." I didn't understand his note, nor did I understand why he was accusing me of lying. In my confusion and because I did want to double-check my facts, I immediately took my blog post down to do further research. In my research, I listened to a YTB Getting Started Call where I heard Jeanie Sharpless and ADI Founder and CEO, Curtis Edwards talk about the acquisition. OK, I thought. It is true. So I reposted the original blog post.

Of course, the tenacious Mr. Frenaye in the interim had published a very nasty post about me being a liar on his "MLMs and Travel: A Bad Mix" blog, so the drama that I thought was over, had only just begun. To keep up the drama, John sent me several other nasty little comments that I refused to publish on my blog. After a while, I thought, this is stupid. Let me talk to him directly, so I picked up the phone and called him. I'd tried emails, but he never seemed to receive those. I later found out that I might have been sending them to the wrong address.

So yesterday, I called John and we had a very long talk: about YTB, the travel industry, our positions as RTAs, you name it -- we talked about it. After our conversation, John did apologize for handling the matter the way he did with me, and he posted his apology on his blog. I thought that was a nice touch. John seemed to understand that I was only posting what I believed to be true... not deliberately posting lies (as he had originally believed) so I could build my business.

I was glad that John and I had cleared things up between us, but that wasn't good enough for me, because I honestly wanted to know the truth about the rumored YTB acquisition of ADI.

In my quest for the real deal, I sent support tickets to YTB, contacted the company's travel support team, and emailed Jeanie Sharpless. After several days and several contacts made, here's what I found out:

Apparently, there was indeed an announcement made about the acquisition of ADI by YTB at the Richmond Travel Training event. According to Jeanie Sharpless, the announcement was made by YTB Travel CEO, J. Kim Sorensen, and the founder and CEO of ADI, Curtis Edwards, who was there to confirm it. The problem, however, is that while this merger is on the planning table and discussions between the two companies are taking place, and maybe they are even close to finalizing the details... TODAY, it is still in the planning stages, and the acquisition has not yet been confirmed. In the excitement of the possibilities of this merger actually taking place, it was announced. It probably shouldn't have been, but it was. You know how excited we humans can get about things. Anyway, since more legal work must be done before it is a DONE DEAL, for now, the answer to the question at hand is "NO" YTB has not acquired ADI... at least not yet. But believe you me... as soon as it is final (and let's pray that it will be soon!) I'll be one of the first to let you know!

John, in a very strange and dysfunctional way, has been a blessing. I'm sure he didn't intend to because he really is passionate about his disdain for YTB and all MLM travel companies. Still, he did force me to do my due diligence to ensure that what I was reporting was accurate, so... for that, I must say "thank you" to John Frenaye. I only wish he was not a hater of all things YTB. If that weren't the case, perhaps we could even be friends.
