Solve Your High Gas Prices Problem! Don't Let Rising Gas Prices Get You Down!

Are you one of the millions of Americans who has been struggling to pay your house note, only to now have to worry about high gas prices? Are high gas prices getting you down? Is the threat of rising gas prices frightening you? The real question is not IF it's a problem, but WHAT are you going to do about it?

It's no secret that the threat of rising gas prices is hurting millions of working American families. And if you're not working, you may have an even greater problem. The solutions that the politicians are suggesting are riddled with questions. Will it work? How long will it take to work? Can we depend on it? Well, no matter what the government comes up with, the bottom line is that you cannot leave your life in their hands. You've got to invest in your own future and take control of your own life. ]If your next question is, "How?" Consider getting yourself a PLAN B because Plan A, the plan you've been working on all your adult life, just won't cut it anymore.

But more than this, you DESERVE more. You deserve a life that will allow you not only to live comfortably and have abundance yourself, but also to have enough to share with others. You deserve to be able to travel and see the world and enjoy life without a strain. If you want these things, maybe you should consider YTB Travel, because YTB can give it to you. But don't take my word for it. Check it out and see it for yourself.

My family and I instituted our Plan B about two years ago. A friend of mine and I were working in the real estate field when she was introduced to a business opportunity with YTB Travel. She told me that this business allowed her to travel wholesale, earn a 60% commission on all her travels as well as any travel booked on her website, and be able to even write off her vacations! This sounded almost too good to be true, but since I love to travel, and I have traveled a lot in my lifetime and wanted to travel more, from the very beginning I liked it. Still, I resisted getting involved because I had been in another business that I did nothing with, and I didn't want to throw away anymore money. I am so thankful that she didn't allow my resistance to deter her. About a month later, I joined the company and I can honestly say, I've never been happier. YTB Travel is a top notch company. There are others with a lower entry fee, but I understand business and I understand that you get what you pay for. I did my due dilligence to check out the company, and I am absolutely convinced that my husband and I made the absolute best choice, and I would not change anything.

To find out more about YTB Travel, feel free to view our presentation here and here.

In nearly two years time, my husband and I have built a team that spans this nation. To ensure that we are able to connect with all our teammembers, we host weekly meetings via conference calls. The focus of these calls is training, motivation and support. We teach you how to build. maintain and sustain your business by using the strategies and tools that we and others in YTB have found to be successful. What do we require in return? COMMITMENT. If you are committed, we are committed to help you succeed. All you need to do is to stay plugged in and follow the YTB system. The good news is that we help you tailor the system to fit your individual schedule and needs.

Don't let the high gas prices, and the rate in which gas prices are rising get you down. There are other options available to help you and your family to take the edge off!**********************************************************

Did YTB Acquire American Destinations? Yes or No?

Recently, I posted a blog about YTB having acquired American Destinations, Inc. (ADI). As soon as I posted it, John Frenaye attacked me and told me "Nice Try. Now try telling the truth." I didn't understand his note, nor did I understand why he was accusing me of lying. In my confusion and because I did want to double-check my facts, I immediately took my blog post down to do further research. In my research, I listened to a YTB Getting Started Call where I heard Jeanie Sharpless and ADI Founder and CEO, Curtis Edwards talk about the acquisition. OK, I thought. It is true. So I reposted the original blog post.

Of course, the tenacious Mr. Frenaye in the interim had published a very nasty post about me being a liar on his "MLMs and Travel: A Bad Mix" blog, so the drama that I thought was over, had only just begun. To keep up the drama, John sent me several other nasty little comments that I refused to publish on my blog. After a while, I thought, this is stupid. Let me talk to him directly, so I picked up the phone and called him. I'd tried emails, but he never seemed to receive those. I later found out that I might have been sending them to the wrong address.

So yesterday, I called John and we had a very long talk: about YTB, the travel industry, our positions as RTAs, you name it -- we talked about it. After our conversation, John did apologize for handling the matter the way he did with me, and he posted his apology on his blog. I thought that was a nice touch. John seemed to understand that I was only posting what I believed to be true... not deliberately posting lies (as he had originally believed) so I could build my business.

I was glad that John and I had cleared things up between us, but that wasn't good enough for me, because I honestly wanted to know the truth about the rumored YTB acquisition of ADI.

In my quest for the real deal, I sent support tickets to YTB, contacted the company's travel support team, and emailed Jeanie Sharpless. After several days and several contacts made, here's what I found out:

Apparently, there was indeed an announcement made about the acquisition of ADI by YTB at the Richmond Travel Training event. According to Jeanie Sharpless, the announcement was made by YTB Travel CEO, J. Kim Sorensen, and the founder and CEO of ADI, Curtis Edwards, who was there to confirm it. The problem, however, is that while this merger is on the planning table and discussions between the two companies are taking place, and maybe they are even close to finalizing the details... TODAY, it is still in the planning stages, and the acquisition has not yet been confirmed. In the excitement of the possibilities of this merger actually taking place, it was announced. It probably shouldn't have been, but it was. You know how excited we humans can get about things. Anyway, since more legal work must be done before it is a DONE DEAL, for now, the answer to the question at hand is "NO" YTB has not acquired ADI... at least not yet. But believe you me... as soon as it is final (and let's pray that it will be soon!) I'll be one of the first to let you know!

John, in a very strange and dysfunctional way, has been a blessing. I'm sure he didn't intend to because he really is passionate about his disdain for YTB and all MLM travel companies. Still, he did force me to do my due diligence to ensure that what I was reporting was accurate, so... for that, I must say "thank you" to John Frenaye. I only wish he was not a hater of all things YTB. If that weren't the case, perhaps we could even be friends.

THANK YOU HERO: DOUG BAUKNIGHT

Everyone at some time or another, needs a HERO. A HERO as I define it, is someone who, regardless of the risks, irrespective of the personal danger or attacks, and without taking into consideration how they could be negatively impacted, will selflessley put him or herself on the line, in potential harm's way for the sake of rescuing, aiding or saving another person. With this in mind, I want to take this opportunity to personally thank and applaud MY HERO, and someone that I consider to be a hero to all YTB RTA's: Mr. Doug Bauknight.

Doug Bauknight is a YTB Travel professional who I have never had the pleasure of meeting personally, but I was introduced to via his newsletter Just Picture It Now by a mutual friend. After a first read of Doug's newsletter, I found it to be so informative and enlightening that I immediately became a subscriber and to suggested to my team that they subscribe as well. Until very recently, that was pretty much the extent of my relationship with Doug. That is, until a few days ago.

A few days ago, I learned from one of my RTAs that YTB had "acquired" American Destinations. He had heard it on a Director's Call. I later learned that the announcement had been made at the recent Richmond Travel Training and that it was also archived on last Monday night's "Getting Started in YTB" conference call. This was beyond exciting news, and the potential for growth, for increasing our offerings to our clients and to build our businesses, was all a part of the excitment. So when I learned this new info, I did not waste time to post it on my blog. This was when the backlash against me began.

After I posted the information about the acquisition (I called it a merger at the time) I started receiving very nasty, negative comments from someone named "John". John, I later learned, was John Freneye, the MSNBC columnist and traditional travel agent who makes it his life's work to personally bring down YTB Travel and anyone associated with the company. In effect, John said in his MLMs and Travel: A Bad Mix blog that I was lying. For a moment, I was taken aback by him because 1. I didn't know him and he didn't know me, so I didn't understand why I was being attacked by him because of my post and 2. I was only posting what I had heard from what I believed to be reliable sources. Still, since I had been challenged and because I didn't want to be posting anything untrue, I wanted to check further, so I put my post in "editing" mode. What did I do that for? Apparently, John had put together his malicious "Wife, Mother, Minister... Liar" blog post, written solely to vilify me by then. When he learned that my original post was no longer visible, that was all he needed to know. He was delighted to then send me a note telling me that I was not only a liar but also a coward who lacked integrity.

By this time, Doug had become aware of John's post. He immediately sent me an apologetic note. I had not seen it and didn't know about it at that time. When I did see it, I was floored. Not only were the words offensive, questioning and maligning me as a person and as a minister of the Gospel, but the visual that he chose, a young child "flipping the bird" is simply inexcusable. Doug was outraged, as was I and many others. He lost no time posting a rebuttal to what John had written, on his Just Picture It Now blog.

The purpose of this post is to honor and simply say, "Thank You" to Doug. Doug is not only an advocate for me, but also for the rights of RTAs everywhere to be able to freely promote, advertise and build our businesses on our websites, blogs, newsletters, etc. without fearing the retribution and outlandish slap downs as those that have been perpetrated upon me by John Freneye. Doug has requested that everyone who does not support John's tactics to simply post your own comments on his Just Picture It Now blog or write about it in your own blog and cite his link or both. Clearly, John Freyene is a hater of everything YTB. He has gone to great lengths to damage the reputation of the YTB and its agents wherever he finds them, as is clearly expressed in his blog. Doug's response to John's post is one way of combatting John's efforts to debilitate and degrade.

What Doug has done tells more about him and his character than I can ever articulate. He is a man of high integrity, courage and faith. I believe that we all owe Doug Bauknight a debt of gratitude and thanksgiving for the stance that he has taken on this issue. THANK YOU DOUG... for standing up for me, but not only me, for all YTB RTAs and the rights of MLMers everywhere to work our businesses in peace and freedom. Thank you, Doug, for being our HERO!

Using Color To Build Your YTB Travel Business

How can your understanding of COLOR help you build your YTB Travel Business?

It's simple! By understand the "colors" of people, you will also understand how to better relate to them and share your business with them. The truth of the matter is that everyone can be said to reflect a color in their personality. People can be divided into Reds, Yellows Blues and Greens or combinations of some or all. Each color has characteristics that when you learn to identify them, will give you special insight into the best ways to appoach and motivate them.

Reds comprise 15 percent of the population. These people tend to be the more authoritative, pushy and aggressive people who like to be in control. Many of your classic salespeople will fall into this category. You'll also find very accomplished CEOs, attorneys, very driven athletes, pilots and other "Type-A personalities" who fit in this category. Reds are known to be goal oriented, and it goes without saying that they tend to have huge egos and short fuses. These people are such strong leaders themselves that they can be difficult to manage. They are used to leading, not following. When a Red is dressed, they tend to wear high powered business suits. They are motivated by P.M.S. - Power, Money and Success, and because they have such huge egos, the way to get in and stay in their good graces is to stroke their egos. You will want to show your Red prospects the merits of your company compensation plan and any info you have on successful leaders, from the outset. You will want to get straight to the point because they don't have time for small talk. Show them the money! Red's demand respect, so be sure to show it to them. Of all the colors, Reds are the most domineering and difficult.

Blues also make up 15 percent of the population. Blues are fun-loving, open and direct people who are naturally drawn to network marketing companies. They tend to have high energy and can be extremely creative people. Because these are the people who love life, love people and love to talk, they are a natural fit for networking businesses because of the "social" and "relationship-building" aspect of it. Because Blues are very social and sociable people. They are talkative and can be scattered and unfocused. In your network marketing business, you need to work with your Blues to help ensure that they don't talk too much when sharing the business with prospects. Blues also have difficulty managing their business because they lack order and organization skills. However, if you can train a Blue to focus and follow a systematic approach to business building, you will have one of the best team members ever because they are the consumate "people persons". Blues enjoy dressing in as colorful clothing as they have personalities. They usually like bright, brilliant and bold colors, and you'll often see them wearing colorful clothing (like Hawaiian shirts for example) that draws attention to themselves. Blues tend to dislike numbers, facts and figures so when you share your business with them, you don't want to bore them with a lot of statistics and financial data or details. If you promote your business with parties, you definitely want to invite your Blues because they are social butterflies. You can also give them an overview of your business as long as you focus on the fun aspects of the business. Blues will need your help with setting up a plan for their business and sticking with it. The more you can assist them with getting their business organized, the better they will be for you and the business.

Greens comprise 35% of the population and are the exact opposite of blues. Greens are indirect, not very social, more reserved and more introverted. Greens are more spoken and exact, and tend to like statistics and numbers, figures, facts and raw data. A Green's idea of fun is creating a new spreadsheet or analyzing statistical data. Greens are detailed, well organized and great planners. Give a Green a problem and they will analyze it ad infinitum. This is the main problem you will encounter with Greens because they tend to over analyze every detail, and suffer from analysis paralysis. When you talk to a Green, you will get short, one word answers. If you are working with a green, give them more than less information. The one who gives a green the most data and the most accurate data wins. Greens are so opposite from Blues that they have difficulty understanding Blues and how they can be productive or successful because Blues are scattered and unorganized. A good trait about Greens is that they are very persistent. Greens are the accontants, engineers, planners and organizers. Greens are turned off by pushy and aggressive people.

Yellows comprise 35% of the population. Yellow's are open but not very direct or easy to communicate about their feelings. If you ask them a question, they probably will answer the question but they won't volunteer any additional information. The great news is that you can depend on a Yellow. They are loyal, great listeners, exceptional team players, supportive and nurturing. They are the best at using both sides of their brain. Key words to use when communicating with a Yellow are "team", "together", "relationship" and "family." Yellows enjoy life, are overly sensitive and hate pushy people and kind of confrontation. Yellows are open like the blues, but indirect like the greens. Yellows are usually your teachers, nurses, and counselors. Their dress is casual and comfortable and their speech is soft and gentle. Yellows are not goal oriented. If you are working with a yellow, because they are so nurturing, be sure to let them know how they can help others and show them that you will be there to support and help them. It's important that they know that they are part of a team.

If you are in YTB Travel or any network marketing company, you can use this information to help you identify your core leaders or other prospects, and to determine how best to approach and communicate with them for greater success and conversion rates. But no matter what kind of business you are in, you can use this information to align your marketing and communications strategies. It will not only help you build your business but using it effectively can also enhance your personal life.

20 More Great YTB Travel & Other Business Building Ideas

Need more creative business building ideas? Check these out! These are great business building ideas, thanks to a contributer at WAHM!

1. Contact local small companies and shops to see if you can offer exclusive discounts or FREEBIES to their employees. Companies are always looking for ways to "treat" their employees to specials from the local and surrounding community.

2. Small Home Town Newspapers! Big newspaper ads tend to be costly, and they may not give you too good of a response, so try targeting small town newspapers! Many times you will get a great response. Some may even allow you to place your ad on their wedding and engagement announcements page which allows YTB RTAs to promote your Honeymoon & Bridal Registry in their newspaper.

So if you are going to do any type of newspaper advertising, inquire about getting your ads on specific pages in the newspaper that targets the group of people you are most likely to attract.

3. Get a low cost outdoor banner and some signs printed up with an eye-catching slogan and your business information on it. You can usually get them done reasonably priced.

You can have these outdoor banners displayed at outdoor concerts, picnics, church fairs, family and class reunions, outdoor children’s sporting events, outdoor adult sports events, outdoor neighborhood block parties, outdoor community events, carnivals, fairs, festivals, etc.

The smaller signs can also be posted strategically in high-traffic areas, near interstates, highways and more.

4. Take your business on the road during nice weather. Contact local area parks & community centers to see what their schedule of events are and inquire about setting up a booth or table.

This is a great way to network & market your business to those in your community.

5. Community Clipper Coupon Packs & Sales Flyer Mailings. These days a lot of communities have mailings such as these, contact them and see how you can participate and market your business.

6. Contact small local area businesses such as hair salons, massage parlors, boutiques, banks etc.

See if you can set up a table for 1 week. During this week, promote three of your best selling travel specials such as the Spa Vacations found on your YTB website, and include your fliers, business cards and other information. Put a basket on the table with a sign behind it asking for business cards from anyone interested in a home-based business. Be sure to follow up on these later. Offer the store owner or manager a free gift for allowing you to do this.

You can also offer to donate a prize for a contest if they let you display the prize donated & get a copy of the contestants entry blanks after the promotion closes.

7. Contact local area pizza shops, diners, deli's and coffee bagel shops to ask them about promoting your business on their paper placemats! Believe it or not, customers really do read these ads!

8. Contact local area restaurants and clubs to inquire about promoting your business on their paper beverage coasters!

9. Local Television Stations are always holding on-air contests & website contests for their viewers. Contact them about donating a vacation or cruise voucher to sponsor one of their contests! This will be GREAT business exposure for you!

10. Attend Local Area holiday shopping events. Customers who are ready to spend holiday shopping money turn out for these events by the thousands! Depending on where they are held you can usually get a booth for a reasonable price, and if they are a bit pricey, go in with others in your TEAM to make them more economical to participate in!

11. Host a Community Block Party on your street or at a local community center! Families are always looking for something to do during the nice weather seasons!

Optional: Attend your neighborhood block party and set up a table with information about your business and fliers outlining some of the specials you are offering. Get out there in your community and get your business seen!

12. Get your business listed in your cities telephone book yellow pages! Many of them also have a coupon section too!

13. You can take this phone book advertising one step further by finding out what company makes the plastic vinyl phone book covers which have local business ads on them and get your business added to it as well!

14. Get your business information printed up on pencils and hand them out to local colleges and technical schools for them to hand out to their adult students! This keeps your business information in front of them! (Make sure you only donate them to schools with adult students).

15. Get a vehicle banner made for your automobile. Options include the vinyl window clings or vinyl car magnets that stick to your automobile. These are good because they don’t scratch or remove the paint, and you can easily remove them when washing your vehicle!

16. If your city has a travel guide that tourists request, contact that business and find out how you can get your business included in it too!

17. Local City Maps! These days even city maps have advertising on them! You can usually get a small business ad printed on them for an economical price. Be sure to include your website address, email address and business phone number.

18. Contact local area hotels, motels and bed & breakfast inns. Ask them if you can make up a Lobby Basket and leave it in their Lobby.

What is a Lobby Basket? You make up little packs of info about your business & products and put them into the Lobby Basket for their patrons to take.

They usually have a pamphlet wall or area for pamphlets from local area attractions etc. If they don’t have a lobby basket area, inquire about leaving your business info in their pamphlet area.

19. Get your business info printed up on balloons! This is very economical to do! You then distribute them to local community centers, sporting events and other types of places where parents book their children’s birthday parties!

These balloons can be displayed at the birthday party giving you business exposure. You can usually get them done for .3-.8 cents each. Your business name & website address is all you need on them!

20. Team up with your TEAM or find a few other self-employed business owners in your community and team up! You can all sponsor a local parade float, parade clowns etc. Make up signs with your business info imprinted on them so that you can receive some great business exposure during the parade!
